My Story
My father saved up to get an Apple IIe and encouraged me to use it. Like most kids, I began by playing games. Before long, though, I wanted to know what was happening behind the screen. I began teaching myself to program, building simple games of my own, and learning that a few lines of code could turn an idea into something real.
That same curiosity showed up everywhere. I liked taking things apart, understanding how they worked, and seeing whether I could put them back together differently. The tools and technologies have changed considerably since then, but the instinct has stayed the same: ask questions, explore possibilities, and build something better than what was there before.
The Journey
Beyond Engineering
In addition to my career, I have been blessed with a wonderful wife, two boys, and two cats. I spend a lot of time with them and of course working on the yard / house.
I enjoy playing guitar and writing songs, and have been in multiple bands. I would say that music and software engineering are my two great passions. I am currently using AI to produce new music and find its possibilities inspiring.
Still Curious
When I started coding, I couldn't have imagined where that curiosity would lead. It has taken me from building simple apps to designing enterprise software, leading engineering teams, and mentoring talented people.
Today, I'm just as excited about learning as I was back then. AI has opened an entirely new chapter in software development, and I'm fascinated by the ways it can help us build better products and empower engineers to accomplish more than ever before.
